What we gather, store and use

What are cookies?

Cookies are small files that are included in the files downloaded when your computer accesses a website. The cookies are then used by the website to help its normal or additional functionality. They are mostly there to aid user experience, but can serve other purposes such as advertising and research.

What cookies do we use?

Analytical Cookies

We use Google Analytics to monitor how people interact with our website and provide a better user experience. The type of data we collect from this includes how many people visit our website, and what pages they look at while they’re here.

These cookies are designed and used entirely by Google. At no point during your visit does any of this data go directly to Twist. It’s only later once it’s been added to the database can we see the results.

The data that Google uses to monitor your visit may does not include any personal information, however details about your general location and computer are recorded to ensure accurate data collection. By the time this data is received by Twist it’s completely anonymous and there’s no way for us to link this data back to individual users.

This subject is covered in more detail in Google’s privacy policy.

Marketing Cookies

Cookies can also be used to track your online activity and provide personalised advertising. We do not currently employ the use of marketing cookies on our website.

Cookie Consent Cookies

We use a cookie to record your preferences for cookie consent. When first visiting this website, you will have been asked for your consent to use cookies. Until you choose to accept, your choices are set to ‘no’ by default. That means no cookies will run from the site with the exception of the cookie to remember that preference.

If you choose to allow cookies, then your new selection will be remembered and stored in a cookie for future reference.

You can change your cookie preferences any time by clicking the cookie settings icon in the lower left hand side of your browser when on our website.
